Welcome to Today Karaikudi News (டுடே காரைக்குடி) – your independent local news portal bringing you news and updates from Karaikudi & across Sivagangai District.
Our purpose is simple – to keep our community informed about what is happening around us. From breaking local developments and important government announcements to education, agriculture, culture, temples, sports, health and community matters, we try to cover the stories that are relevant to the people of our region.
We believe local news has a special place in a community. National and state-level news is easily available everywhere, but the things happening in our own town, village or neighbourhood can sometimes go unnoticed. That is where we want to make a difference. Whether it is an important public issue, a local achievement, an education update, a community event or a development that affects everyday life, we want to bring it closer to our readers.
Our coverage is centred around Karaikudi and the wider Sivagangai district. We also bring news and updates from places including Thiruppathur, Manamadurai, Devakottai, Singampunari, Kalayarkoil and Thirupuvanam, along with other towns and villages across the region.
At Today Karaikudi News, you will find general news and breaking regional updates, education news and learning resources, stories about Chettinad heritage, temples and festivals, health and wellness information, Chettinad food and traditions, local sports news, and stories related to women, agriculture and rural communities.
We also want to give space to the stories that are close to our culture and way of life. Sivagangai district has a rich history and a strong identity, from the heritage of Chettinad to its temples, festivals, farming communities and people. These are not only just topics for us to report but also they are part of the place we live in and the communities we serve.
We understand in which the people depend on local news for information that can affect their daily lives. A report about an accident, a government announcement, an examination update or a public issue can be important to many families. Because of this, we take the responsibility of publishing information seriously.
We make every effort to check the facts, verifying information and present every news as clearly & accurately as possible. We don’t believe that every story needs to be sensationalised to get attention of the people. Our intention is to share the real facts, provide useful information and allow our readers to understand what is happening without unnecessary exaggeration/ bias.
News can sometimes develop quickly and details may change as more information becomes available. In such situations we aim to update our reports when reliable information is confirmed rather than filling gaps with assumptions or speculation.
We are still growing & know there is always a room to improve. Our commitment is to keep listening to our readers, strengthen our local coverage & become a news platform that people across Karaikudi and Sivagangai can depend on.
There are thousands of people, places & stories across our district that deserve to be heard. Some may be big news while others may simply be meaningful to a small community. We believe both have value.
Thank you for visiting Today Karaikudi News and for being part of our growing community. Your support, feedback and the encouragement motivate us to continue bringing the local news to you with care and responsibility.
